Murphy, who has been a makeup artist for eight years, says there's not a huge difference between doing makeup for adult film actresses and for brides on their wedding day.
"If you're going to make a woman beautiful," she told HuffPost Weird News, "you're just going to make the woman beautiful."
A makeup artist on a porn set needs to be extra careful that everything is going to stay in place, but Murphy, 35, pointed out that she would do this anyway.
She began posting before-and-after photos on instagram a few months ago, and says she never expected the images to become an overnight viral sensation. "I am grateful to all the models who have allowed me [to use their photos]," she told HuffPost.
So which porn stars make the best makeup clients?
"Joanna Angel," Murphy told HuffPost, is "one of my favorites … She gives me a lot of creative control and she works on really interesting things … she pushes me to do things I've never done before."

More STDs Among Porn Stars Than Prostitutes

Who is more likely to have an STD: a Los Angeles porn star or a Nevada prostitute? According to a new study, the former, by far. A survey of 168 LA County adult film stars found 28% have gonorrhea, chlamydia, or both; the number of prostitutes infected is negligible, the Los Angeles Times reports. That's because Nevada state law requires them to use condoms, and they're tested every week for the diseases, notes the report, which comes ahead of an LA County ballot measure that would force actors to use condoms on set.
Since Nevada instituted the condom and STD testing rules, there have been no cases of HIV infection among prostitutes, adds the report, whereas the porn industry has seen several. What's more, "the report clearly shows that current testing practices miss two-thirds of active gonorrhea and chlamydia infections" among porn stars, says an expert. The porn industry counters that regular urine testing of performers makes for a safe environment, but the LAT notes that actors aren't checked for rectal or oral infections.

Ryder, Jeremy Appearances

Autopsy pending for porn actor after police altercation

LOS ANGELES — A porn actor died five days after an altercation with police inside an ambulance.

The incident began as authorities responded April 8 to an attempted suicide call and found Marland Anderson, known professionally as Sledge Hammer, with an apparent knife wound.

Anderson – who was reportedly in a agitated state — was  handcuffed to a gurney for transportation in an ambulance, where he tried to stand up but "moved with such force that he broke the gurney free from a floor lock and broke the handcuff," The Los Angeles Times reported.

An officer riding in the ambulance restrained and used a TASER to try to subdue the subject, but he continued to resist, Lt. Andrew  Neiman  said. The Taser may have made contact with the leg of another officer, who complained of being hit with prongs.

Police called for backup, and officers, now outside the ambulance, again confronted the 6-foot-1, muscular man.

"Six to eight [officers] eventually managed to control him,"Neiman said.

Anderson, who reportedly had been dealing with depression, anxiety and a mild form of schizophrenia, was conscious when he was taken to a hospital by ambulance, where he lost consciousness and died Friday, five days later.

The death is under investigation by the LAPD and autopsy is expected this week. The extent of Anderson's self-inflicted knife injuries were not reported.
